Since 2014 the BFC has been dedicated to connecting & serving the urban anglers of NYC. We believe in practicing sustainability, protecting our fisheries and uniting the urban angling community, not only in NYC but worldwide.
What Defines Us
Thanks to our incredible members, the BFC has become the number one fishing organization in NYC and the most popular fishing club on the East Coast. We’re a community of like-minded individuals hailing from all walks of life, bonding over the love of fishing. Not only do we have members in NYC but all over the world, you don’t have to be from Brooklyn to become a member.
From pros to beginners, we treat each other with respect, learning from each other and having fun while fishing year-round. We give back to our city in many ways; we fund fishing trips for kids from underserved communities, organize beach/park clean-ups, donate to the homeless and more.
The club has three basic rules.
Leave the place you fish cleaner than you found it.
If you kill a fish it must be eaten.
Take a picture of your catch or it never happened.
The number of adventures, friendships, and fish caught continues to increase each year, our members welcome newcomers with open arms and are more than willing to help with any aspect of the sport.

Feedback From Our Trusted Members
I joined the BFC in its infancy and have been a member since. After years of having life getting in the way of my own downtime, I decided to return to my favorite hobby, as an angler getting back into the game, I had few friends that fished locally and I wanted to get to know other anglers. I happened upon the club FB page and Instagram and thought it was a good fit – a diverse collection of anglers, the membership is chock full of people from all walks of life, culture and fishing discipline. I met club member Gilberto Diaz online and he told me that he was coming to my neck of the woods to fish – Great Kills park, along with other club members. I met Jose “Tio” Garcia on that beach and from there on I went to more events and gathering and made more friends and fishing partners. This grew into a core group of anglers that live or fish on Staten Island and the birth of the Staten Island Chapter of the club. The key to enjoying and getting the most out of the club is to be active within it. Sure the discounts are nice, but the true spirit of the club is in its members. I have fished all over the world with members of this club and that is only possible by meeting and interacting with other club members. That what makes it great.

To me it’s not a club it’s more like a fishing family, lots of us within the club share a similar passion not just for fishing but for life. I love what we do. Whenever we get together we always have fun and lots of laughs, there’s always something to learn and teach, we fish hard, we eat lots, we share tips and tricks and reviews on tackle and everything in between, we snap pictures of you when you fall asleep while fishing, we share recipes, bait, tackle, jokes, stories and so many experiences outside of fishing.

The club offers the opportunity to connect with other diehards — some surfcast, some deep-sea fish, some ice fish, and more! The various outings are always an epic time. I always encourage others to look into the club and meet up at some events. You can never learn too much from others’ stories, and you can never have too many fishing friends you can talk shop with.
